A Friend

A friend is someone to laugh with
     and someone to cry with too.
It's someone you never have to impress
     in anything you say or do.
And in your darkest moments
     when everything's falling apart,
I hope you'll find comfort in knowing
     that someone feels with your heart.
There's one thing I've found so ironic
     in knowing someone like you
and that's that someone else's hurt
     can hurt as if it's mine too.
So please know I'm there if you want me
     if you don't, I'll understand too
Because what matters most to me
     is what's most important to you.
